| Inaugurated
in 1990, the TGV Atlantique high-speed train takes
you from Bordeaux to Paris in 3 hours and Bordeaux to
Lille in 5 hours. The line also serves the train station
of Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport - extremely practical
for international flights from Paris.
Bordeaux train station is the third-biggest outside
Paris, after Lyon and Marseille stations.

VERDON <-> ROYAN
Two car-ferry services are in operation to cross the Gironde Estuary.
The one furthest north links Royan to the Pointe de Grave and avoids the long detour around the estuary and over the two Dordogne and Garonne bridges.

BLAYE <-> LAMARQUE
The second one, smaller, links Blaye to Lamarque
harbour, and makes it possible to arrive straight
in the heart of Médoc from the Haute-Gironde
