Montagne - Bois de Bonde Circuit - 3.3 km (2 miles) - 1 to 1 1/2 hours

Vineyards, woods, valleys and hillsides, rose garden, flora and fauna, nature trail explaining vine-growing landscapes (contact the Ecomuseum for guide and information).



Montagne - Saint-Georges Local Circuit - 1.3 km (0.8 miles) - 1/2 hr to 1 hour

Vines, dry stone walls.
11th-century church with elegant 4-level belltower. At the beginning of the 12th century, two parts of the edifice were decorated with sculptures and the main apse and south portal were reconstructed.

Off the footpath: wash-house, Château St-Georges (18th-century architecture on medieval foundations), Château des Tours (14th century, modified 16th century). The charming Church of St-Georges was built in the Romanesque style in two separate phases. In the 11th century, the nave, main apse and two absidioles opening onto a low transept were built.



Montagne - Circuit of the Mills of Calon - 3.6 km (2.2 miles)

12th-century Romanesque church and its ribbed cupola, presbytery (excellent restoration work), exceptional panoramic view, orientation table covering the heart of the Libourne area, remains of 5 old windmills built pre-19th century. On the Hill of Calon, two of the five windmills have been restored recently, with painstaking care and patience. The mills are composed of a cylindrical tower built in rubble work and cut stone, with a staircase and a millstone chamber. The roof structure is mobile to adapt the direction of the sails. They are several centuries old and only one of them has has the internal mechanisms restored so that it continues to grind grain today as it did in the past.



Néac (old presbytery) - Néac Circuit - 3.3 km (2 miles) - 1 to 1 1/2 hours

Vines, presbytery and Valley of the Barbanne.


Lussac - Circuit of the Celts - 13.7 km (8.5 miles) - 3 to 3 1/2 hours

Vines and charming landscapes, Menhir of Picampeau (the "sacrifice stone"), Gallo-Roman villa of Luccius (remains), Tower of Grenet, Tower of Ségur, fortified manorhouse, once the home of Montesquieu's brother, pigeon loft, St Pierre church.


Saint-Sauveur de Puynormand - Saint-Sauveur Circuit-
   5.2 km (3.2 miles) - 1 1/2 to 2 hours

Vineyards and forests, valleys and streams. Small 12th-century church built on a very high hilltop.



Gours - Gours Circuit - 8 km (5 miles) - 2 to 2 1/2 hours

Early 12th-century church, vines, forests, flora, fauna.


Francs - Francs Circuit - 4.5 km (2.8 miles) - 1 1/2 to 2 hours

Vines, hillsides, wooded area. Château de Francs (12th century, modified in 17th century).


Puisseguin - Monbadon Medieval Circuit - 10 km - 2 1/2 to 3 hours

Vineyards, woods, cooperative winery, pigeon loft, Monbadon feudal castle (1330), Château de Roques (built on Gallo-Roman remains and modified in the 18th century) proposes visits of the monolithic cellars laid out in underground quarries, 5th century underground refuge, Gallo-Roman aqueduct, Roques mill.


Monbadon - Source of the Barbanne Circuit- 5 km (3.1 miles) - 1 1/2 to 2 hours

The Castle of Monbadon towers above the valley of the Barbanne. The source of this stream (which powered no less than 17 watermills over a distance of 17 km in 1871) is not far away. Wetland flora and fauna, woods.


St-Christophe des Bardes - St Christophe des Bardes Circuit
   14 km (8.8 miles) - 3 1/2 to 4 hours

Vines, combes of Laroque and Tauzinat, Château de Laroque (16th century, modified in the 18th century), church in the old village, Sarpe winegrowers' village, Château Haut Sarpe, banks of the Barbanne.

Longer-distance circuit - Circuit around the Lussac Area - 116 km (72 miles)

The long-distance circuit often follows the itineraries described in the local routes. It offers the opportunity to discover the area around Lussac and connects with nearby circuits in Saint-Emilion, Libourne, Guîtres, Coutras and Castillon.
